Karachi Eaglets capture trophy

KARACHI, Dec 27: Karachi Eaglets lifted the Sixth Nehal Siddiqui Invitation cricket trophy after beating Pak Gymkhana by four wickets on Thursday.

Batting first Pak Gymkhana were skittled out for 129 in 33.3 overs with Imran Nawaz (33) and Farman Ali (22), the only batsmen facing the Eaglets attack of Akhtar Hussain three for 18 and Irfan Ali three for 27.

Karachi Eaglets in reply had their fair share of trouble but managed to reach the winning target of 135 for six wickets in 33.1 overs. Khurram Abbas was unbeaten with 27 runs. Asim Cheema and Dr. Mansoor scored 20 runs apiece. Left-arm spinner Yahya Toor two for 13 and Yasir Shakaib two for 19 picked up the wickets for the losing side.
