NOWSHERA, Dec 27: Two women of a family were killed, and another sustained serious injuries, when they were knocked down by a car on the G.T. Road in the Nowshera cantt here on Friday.

Firasat and Salma died on the spot, and Maimoona was shifted to the hospital.

The driver, who was identified as Tufail, fled, leaving the car. The police have seized the vehicle.

Firasat was going with the other two women to meet her brother’s family.

The three women, who alighted from a tonga near the police petrol pump on the GT Road, had forgotten some belongings in the tonga, and went to the tonga stand to collect their things.

As they were crossing the road, a car (LEM-797) knocked them down, killing two of them on the spot.
