Workshop on district bodies concludes

HARIPUR, Dec 27: The six-day workshop, aimed at improving the performance of the members of  the district and Tehsil councils, concluded on Friday.

The district government had arranged the workshop with the collaboration of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB), which  was attended by all the members of the councils.

The participants and trainers, during the workshop, held detailed  discussions on the district government’s functioning, role of the elected representatives and the provision of the civic amenities at the grassroot-level.

They also discussed various aspects of the Local Government Ordinance, 2001, particularly those pertaining to its legal, financial, administrative  and developmental implications.
