KARACHI, Sept 9: A suspected bandit was killed in what police described as an encounter in the New Karachi Industrial Area on Sunday.

The area SHO, Ishtiaq Ghauri, said that four suspects entered a textile mill in New Karachi’s Sector 6-B and the management of the industrial unit informed the police, which responded immediately.

He said the police challenged the suspects and an encounter ensued during which one of the bandits suffered fatal bullet wounds and died before he could be shifted to hospital. However, his three accomplices escaped, the SHO added.

The police seized a TT pistol from the possession of the deceased.

They shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Later, the body was taken to the Edhi morgue for a want of identification.
