Two killed in Swabi

SWABI, Sept 7: A student committed suicide while a man was shot dead here on Friday, said the police.

Farhad Ali, resident of Sheikh Dheri, who was studying in a local government high school, ended his life after consuming pesticides. Police said mother of the student found him dead when she went to his room to wake him up in the morning for school. The cause of the incident was stated to be some domestic problem which forced him to take his life.

In the second incident, Sadam Khan was shot dead when he was on his way to local market in Zaida city. Registering FIR in Zaida police station the mother of the deceased said she was informed about the incident by her neighbours. She accused Fawad Khan and Kifayat Shah of killing her son over an old enmity.—Correspondent

NAB books ex-official

PESHAWAR, Sept 7: The National Accountability Bureau, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has filed Rs49.10 million reference against Ms Saba Zaman, ex-assistant manager CSD, Peshawar, and others allegedly involved in cheating public at large. The other officials are Mr Faisal Nadeem and Mr Sameen Jan.

Taking cognizance of public complaints, the NAB initiated inquiry against the accused persons. During the course of inquiry, it was revealed that the accused persons deprived a number of persons of their hard earned money on the pretext of investment in business and promise to pay back the principal amount along with handsome profit.  To establish confidence, the accused persons returned a percentage of original amounts to certain affected people by showing it as a profit.—Bureau Report

Probe into jail affairs

PESHAWAR, Sept 7: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has ordered inquiry against some personnel of Haripur Jail, who are reportedly involved in malpractices. According to a statement issued from the home and tribal affairs department here on Friday, section officer (judicial) of the home department has been nominated to conduct inquiry into the case. The inquiry officer has been directed to submit the inquiry report before the competent authority in home department at the earliest. —Bureau Report

Three officials reshuffled

PESHAWAR, Sept 7: The government on Friday ordered posting/transfer of three officers with immediate effect.

Mohammad Zubair, DCO Karak (BS-18), has been asked to report to establishment department, while Ali Anan Qamar, (BS-18), deputy secretary, industries department, has been transferred and posted as DCO Karak in his own pay and scale.

Ghulam Mohammad (BS-18), director land record, Board of Revenue, has been transferred and posted as DCO Nowshera against the vacant post in his own pay and scale, according to a notification issued by the establishment and administration department.—Bureau Report

Exams schedule

PESHAWAR, Sept 7: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Technical Education has notified for information of all concerned that the diploma of associate engineer (new course) supplementary exams 2012 will commence from November 14, 2012.

The examination admission forms and fee can be submitted without late fee up to October 3, with late fee of Rs180 up to October 8, with double fee up to October 15 and with triple fee up to October 31.—Bureau Report
