LANDI KOTAL/KHAR, Sept 6: Three persons, including a minor girl, were killed when a mortar shell fell on a house in Tirah valley in Khyber Agency on Thursday.

Sources said that the house of Kaptan Khan, a resident of Kandawo village in Sipah area, was hit by a mortar shell, fired by unidentified persons.

Shah Nawaz, Gul Nawaz and a minor daughter of Ahmad Gul were killed on the spot in the incident, they added. They said that roof of the house collapsed when shell fell on it.

It could not be established immediately as to who fired the mortar shell. However, members of Lashkar-i-Islam and its opponent group Tawheedul Islam target each other’s positions with heavy weapons at regular intervals in the area.

Meanwhile, bullet-riddled bodies of two unidentified men were found at a deserted place in Malagori area of Jamrud tehsil on Thursday. The Khasadar Force handed over the bodies to Peshawar police as no one from Jamrud identified the deceased.

In Bajaur Agency, bodies of three persons were found in Badi Sia area of tehsil Mamond on Thursday.

The residents of the area said that bodies of three unidentified persons were found on a roadside in Badi Sia area of tehsil Mamond. The faces, chests and heads of the deceased were riddled with bullets, they said, adding torture signs were also visible on the bodies. An official said that Levies personnel shifted the bodies to Khar, administrative headquarters of the agency, for identification.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the killings. The administration lodged a case against unidentified persons and started investigation.`—Dawn Report
