10 hits by robbers

LAHORE, Dec 26: Robbers struck 10 times on Thursday and made of with cash, gold jewellery, valuables and vehicles in different parts of the city.

Four gunmen stormed into the house of Muhammad Shahid at Hussain Park in Shadbagh and took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs400,000.

Two robbers held up jeweller Muhammad Arshad at his shop in the same locality and took away jewellery worth Rs 200,000.

Four miscreants burst into the house of Fazal Abbas in Township and made off with cash, gold and valuables worth Rs100,000.

Three gunmen entered the house of Muhammad Asif in Hanjarwal and fled with cash and valuables worth Rs150,000 and a car.

Imtiaz Ali, an insurance company employee, told police that he had parked his motorcycle (RIU-8170) in Old Anarkali and found it missing on his return. Two gunmen drove away with a motorcycle (LOR-2899) in Factory Area and two other motorcycles (LOR-5307 and LOR-1019) were stolen from Gowalmandi and Gujjarpura.

A Pajero was driven away at gunpoint from Model Town and two cars were stolen from South Cantonment and Garden Town.

POISONING: A man identified through his belongings as Mahboob Ahmad, 35, died from poisoning in the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Thursday.
