KARACHI: Homage to Quaid

KARACHI, Dec 26: People thronged the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam on Wednesday to pay homage to the Father of the Nation on his 126th birth anniversary.

The day began with special prayers after Fajr prayers in mosques and at the mausoleum. Quran khwani was also held at the mazar.

The national flag was hoisted atop all principal government buildings. Special programmes were aired by Radio Pakistan and FM and TV channels on the life, ideas and achievements of the Quaid.

Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro and Chief Minister Ali Mohammed Maher visited the mausoleum of the Quaid to pay homage and laid wreaths on the mazar.

Scouts, girls guides, school and college students also visited the mazar in groups, laid wreaths and offered Fateha.

Leaders of political parties, social workers and NGOs also visited the mazar, laid wreaths and offered Fateha.—APP
