KARAK, Sept 2: Relatives of an injured miner, who died in hospital for want of treatment, staged a protest demonstration demanding action against the hospital administration. Police sources said the miner, Hussain Gul, was seriously injured in Jatta Imsail Khel area of Banda Daud Shah tehsil when a salt mine caved in burying him under the debris.

The local people and other miners after hectic efforts retrieved the critically injured Hussain Gul, resident of the same area. He was immediately shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital Banda Daud Shah but there was no doctor available in the emergency unit to provide treatment to the critically injured miner instantly. Therefore he was shifted to civil hospital Terri.

The sources claimed the miner succumbed to his injuries in the civil hospital Terri. The relatives of the slain miner protested against the absence of staff and other facilities in the tehsil headquarters hospital Banda Daud Shah.

They demanded of the government to either provide doctors and other facilities to the hospital or close it as it was useless for the people of the tehsil.—Correspondent
