LAHORE, Dec 24: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday met ARD president Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan in the presence of the PML-N and the PPP leaders and then declared that by-elections in the Punjab would be contested jointly.
Leaders of the ARD, the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal and the PTI will be meeting again on Wednesday to finalize their candidates for by-polls.
Imran Khan said after the meeting that formation of a joint opposition in parliament was also likely.
PPP’s Qasim Zia and PML-N leaders Zulfiqar Khosa, Tehmina Daultana, Saad Rafiq and Punjab PTI president Mian Sajid Pervaiz were also present on the occasion.
