RAWALPINDI, Aug 29: Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) on Wednesday arranged poster exhibition to create awareness among people of dengue virus. More than 50 students from government schools and colleges participated in the exhibition and displayed their posters that informed people about the precautionary measures. In all the posters, the students emphasised on making one’s house and street clean and dumping garbage at a proper place.

The council distributed certificates among all students for their efforts to create awareness among people about the dengue virus and the various steps needed to protect oneself from it.

RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed said on the directions of Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal, a variety program based on skits and songs would be held on Sunday at 11am. Seminar on Dengue virus and its prevention will be arranged at 1 pm. To create awareness among children, a puppet show has been organised at 2pm while a drama titled ‘Dengue in Trouble’ will be held at 4pm.

Mr Ahmed said the council had also set up a counter to distribute pamphlets that provided information about preventative measures, adding that a short documentary on dengue was also being played before every programme.
