Preparations for Khatami’s visit

LAHORE, Dec 23: The Punjab government on Monday gave final touches to the arrangements to welcome Iranian President Khatami who is due in the city on Dec 25.

According to officials, Khatami would arrive on Wednesday morning and proceed directly from the airport to the mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Badshahi mosque.

Later, he will hold a meeting with Pakistani industrialists and businessmen at a local hotel.

Afterwards, the president would attend a civic reception at the historic Shalamar Gardens.

Before his departure to Tehran in the evening, he is likely to address a Press conference along with the prime minister at the Governor’s House

MEETING: AJK President Muhammad Anwar Khan and acting Iranian Consul-General Ali Naimati called on Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi at the Chief Minister’s House here on Monday.
