Case against tehsildar, patwari

SAHIWAL, Dec 23: A case was registered against a revenue tehsildar, a patwari and a headman on the charges of corruption and fraud.

Tehsildar Rana Ghulam Sarwar, patwari Umar Farooq and headman Sheikh Aziz Ahmad fraudulently transferred the house of a trader Hafiz Khan in the name of one Dr Asim. The accused forged the government record with the help of Rafiq.

The Anti-Corruption Estab-lishment registered the case on the report of Hafiz Khan. None of the accused has so far been arrested.

DOCTORS PROTEST: Medical officers of the DHQ Hospital on Monday wore black armbands in protest against the firing on a colleague and demanded the accused’s immediate arrest.

An unidentified man opened fire on child specialist Dr Zahid Sherazi.

Doctors from nearby towns of Kassowal, Chichawatni and Noorshah also joined the strike.

The Sahiwal district PMA threatened that it would take out protest processions if the accused was not arrested soon.
