Israeli aggression condemned

Published December 24, 2002

ISLAMABAD, Dec 23: The government has strongly condemned the continuing relentless escalation of Israel’s military aggression against the people of Palestine and its recent military raids on the densely populated cities of the West bank and the Gaza strip.

A press release issued by the Foreign Office said the Israeli attacks had resulted in widespread destruction of Palestinian property and infrastructure.

They caused the loss of more than 88 innocent Palestinian lives as well as of three UN employees, it said and added that large numbers were wounded. Israel‘s barbaric military campaign formed part of its deliberate policy to use excessive force against the Palestinians, it said and added that the acts gravely threatened peace and stability in the region.—Our Reporter
