KARACHI: Pakistan’s women netball team left for Sri Lanka on Friday to participate in the 8th Asian Women Netball Championship, scheduled to be held in Colombo from August 25 to 30.

Mudassar Arain, Secretary General of the Pakistan Netball Federation, said that the Pakistan team will also be competing in the first Asian Beach Netball Championship which will also be held at Colombo from September 1-2.

Pakistan women team got a bronze medal in the first South Asian Beach Games held in 2011 at Hambantota, Sri Lanka.

The 10 countries which will take part in the Asian event are hosts Sri Lanka, Singapore, Maldives, India, Pakistan, Brunei, Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Nepal.
