MIRAMSHAH, Aug 24: MNA Malik Kamran Khan has warned that military operation in North Waziristan Agency would create turmoil in the region and urged the government to resolve issues through dialogue.

Speaking to a gathering of elders and ulema in Miramshah on Friday, the MNA assured them that he would oppose a military action on every forum, including the National Assembly, and would not allow the government to launch offensive in the area.

“The operation will have very serious repercussions and the government should not think about this dangerous option,” he warned and added that people of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) had already rendered heavy sacrifices.

He asked the government to find out a negotiated solution to the problem.

Mr Khan blamed the US for prevailing lawlessness in the region and said that US forces had failed to control situation in Afghanistan. “In fact the US has been accusing Pakistan of creating crisis across the border to hide its own failure in Afghanistan.

He said that like other tribal agencies no significant development projects had been initiated in North Waziristan Agency and urged the government to announce development schemes for the area so that people’s problems could be resolved.
