RAWALPINDI, Aug 24: The Rawal Town Municipal Administration (RTMA) on Friday confiscated 200 unwrapped tyres from different parts of the city in a campaign against dengue virus.

Town Officer Regulation Aftab Chohan said that the RTMA staff visited Pirwadhai and Gunjmandi area and found that the dealers displayed the tyres on roadsides without wrapping them properly.

He said that during the rain, the water accumulated in the water and became an ideal breeding place for dengue mosquitoes. He said that Rawal Town Administrator had already given warning to the traders that criminal cases would be registered against the shopkeepers who failed to cover the tyres. — A Reporter
