LAHORE, Aug 23: A man in his late 20s was shot dead allegedly by a young woman who was sitting with the victim in his car on Canal Road on early Thursday.
Chuhng police said a passerby spotted a young woman running along the road and a man lying in the car with bullet wounds.
Police rushed to the spot on an emergency call and shifted the injured to Jinnah Hospital where he died.
Police seized the victim’s cell phone from the car and identified him as Sahibzada Nizamuddin of Wapda Town. The victim worked in an engineering company.
Police shifted the body to a hospital for an autopsy and registered a case. Police said the motive behind the shooting could not be ascertained.
Lytton Road police said that Mazhar Iqbal Ghori was found strangled at his house in a colony near Chauburji here on Thursday.
SHO Asad Amin said the body was found in a room and it appeared that the unidentified people entered the house and strangled Ghori, who was a reader at the Lahore High Court.
He said the victim’s family was not at home at the time of the incident adding that details of missing valuables could be known on the arrival of the family.
He said the body had been shifted to a hospital for an autopsy and investigation had been launched.
