KARACHI, Dec 23: Three ships scheduled to load and offload wheat, chemicals and general cargo were allotted berths at Multipurpose Terminal during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, four more ships carrying furnace oil, general cargo and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage.

Berth occupancy also remained on the higher side as seven ships Hill Harmony, NCC Hijaz, Shou Ning Hai, Flagtom, Astro Pegasus, Jolind and S.D. Glory were busy in loading/discharging wheat, chemicals general cargo, furnace oil and iron ore respectively.

Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 62,960 tons comprising 61,938 tons of import and 1,022 tons of export cargo was handled.

Three ships, MSC Corinna, Jolind and NCC Hijaz sailed off while Shou Ning Hai and Astro Pegasus were expected to leave the port on Monday.

Four ships, Saudi Abha, MSC Carmen, Catterick and Endeavor-II were expected to take berths at QICT, EVTL and FOTCO Oil Terminal.
