ISLAMABAD, Aug 18: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday directed strict vigilance of diplomatic missions during Eid days to avert any possible terrorism incident including suicide attack.

He gave this direction at a high-level meeting to review security arrangement in Islamabad for Eidul Fitr.

The interior secretary, chief commissioner and other officers were present on the occasion.

The minister said the security plan should cover an effective strategy to combat any incident of violence by miscreants and anti-state elements and evacuation plan in case of any terrorist attack.

He said deployment of Rangers should also be included in the security plan and Rangers deployed at places wherever it was necessary and Diplomatic Enclave/ areas should also be kept under strict vigilance and surveillance to avert any incident of suicide/terrorist attack.

He said the unwarranted entry into important avenues, Parliament House, Diplomatic Enclave, PM House and  Secretariat and Presidency, Chief Minister Houses, etc., should be denied through effective security arrangements.

He said proper parking and traffic arrangements including search of vehicles should be ensured in an effective manner on entry/exit points and at all mosques, Eidgahs, Imambargahs and Oratories belonging to other religions for checking of suspicious vehicles and miscreants etc.

Close liaison should be maintained with intelligence agencies for advance information. Special Branch should be directed to prepare proper video coverage and complete recording of the entire events.

All Hotels, Sirays, Guest Houses, Bus Stands and Deeni Madaris should be kept under strict surveillance. It must be ensured that no inconvenience is caused to general public and traffic plan is given wide publicity for the convenience of the Public.

Carrying, displaying, and brandishing of weapons shall not be allowed. Section 144 Cr PC may be imposed where necessary and should be implemented in letter and spirit.
