Six fall prey to accidents

GUJRANWALA, Dec 22: Six people, including two minor boys, were killed and 24 others injured in separate road accidents in and around the city on Sunday.

Three speeding wagons overturned near Rahwali while overtaking each other. A passerby, Sughran Bibi, died on the spot while some 12 wagon passengers sustained injuries. The injured were taken to the DHQ Hospital in critical condition.

A minor boy, Irfan, was crushed to death by a wagon while crossing the Gondlanwala Road.

Another minor boy, Imran, was knocked down by a pick-up on Sialkot Road. He died while being taken to hospital.

A motorcyclist, Afzal, of Ahmad Nagar was hit and killed by a truck on Alipur Chattha Road.

One person, Sajid, was killed and another injured when a pick-up hit a motorcycle rickshaw on the GT Road.

Mohammad Boota of Baghbanpura was killed while 12 other people were injured when a wagon rammed into a roadside tree on Hafizabad Road.

MURDERED: A man killed his lover in Tamboli village, Kamoki, on Saturday.

Zarina Bibi, the wife of Akbar, developed relations with a landlord, Gulzar Ahmad. On Saturday, she went to meet him at his Dera where they had a quarrel over some issue. Later, Gulzar strangled her to death and escaped.

In another incident, a shopkeeper was shot dead allegedly by his rivals over a money dispute in Alipur Chattha.

Imran Elahi was sitting at his shop when Azam and Anwar came there and opened fire on him. He died while being taken to hospital.
