ISLAMABAD, Aug 16: The capital police on Thursday finalised security plan for Yaum-i-Alquds and Eidul Fitr and called in Rangers and Frontier Constabulary to be deployed at public, worship places and other important buildings.

Besides, the police commandos will man the procession to be held in connection with Alquds day.

Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan has directed all Superintendents of Police and Sub-Divisional Police Officers to body search every person through metal detectors at the entry of Masajid and Imambargahs in their respective jurisdictions.

Police officials were asked to specify parking areas far from the worship places and ensure strict patrolling to keep vigilant eye on suspects.

They have been directed to launch special drive against the professional beggars and they should not be allowed to gather outside the worship places.

The police officials have also been directed to carry out special checking of hotels, motels, inns and guest houses.

IGP Khan has directed the policemen to remain on high alert during Eid holidays.

According to the security plan, more than 2,000 policemen would patrol various sectors during the holidays. However, IGP has appealed to the people to inform relevant police stations before their departure to native areas.

During Eidul Fitr prayers, Masajids and Imambargahs will be guarded by the policemen. Special Quick Response Force (QRF) has been constituted for immediate assistance to the citizens.

Falcon squads and police commandos including contingents of lady police will also patrol the city on the eve of Eid.  Police help service centers have been also established at busy places including Super market, Jinnah Super market, Karachi Company and F-10 Markaz for the assistance of citizens in case of any problem.

More than 200 policemen would be only deputed for the security at Faisal Mosque on Eid day where walkthrough gates and scanners would be installed.

Security has also been put on high alert at Red Zone where extra deployment has been made.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) under supervision of SSP Traffic Dr Moeen Masood will ensure implementation of special deployment plan. Traffic police will be deployed in shopping areas, markets.

The mobile patrols and squads of Islamabad Traffic Police would also remain present in markets, shopping plazas and also at prominent points during Eid congregations.
