LRC elects new officials

LAHORE, Dec 21: President Gen. Pervez Musharraf’s principal secretary Tariq Aziz was elected Lahore Race Club Chairman for the year 2003 at the Annual General Meeting held here on Saturday.

His election was unanimous. Tariq Aziz’s name was proposed by the sitting chairman, Syed Fakhar Imam and seconded by Arbab Nur Muhammad Khan.

The following were elected stewards: Syed Fakhar Imam, Arbab Nur Muhammad Khan, Malik Hamid Ali Noon, Brig (retd) Ihjaz Hussein, Sheikh Sajjad Hassan, Mir Ikram Mahmood, Malik Ghulam Nabi, Mian Abdul Waheed and Lt. Col (retd) Masood Pervaiz.

The current election has brought a new chairman and two new stewards, namely, Tariq Aziz, Mian Abdul Waheed and Lt. Col (retd) Masood Pervaiz. They have replaced Syed Wajid Ali Shah, President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Syed Pervaiz Hussain Shah and Muhammad Nawaz Tiwana, a former Managing Director of Pakistan International Airlines.—A.G
