Canal breach floods crops

KHAIRPUR, Dec 21: An 80-foot-wide breach occurred in the Faiz Wah at RD-65 here on Saturday, inundating five houses and standing crops.

The Wah had also developed a breach earlier which was plugged by irrigation officials on Friday night.

The houses of Khameeso Shar, Ali Gul Shar, Nooruddin, Fateh Mohammad and Mohammad Ismail were inundated.

The affected people staged a protest sit-in on the Kumb-Mirwah Link Road for one hour.

MUMTAZ BHUTTO: National Front chief Mumtaz Ali Bhutto has blamed the Pakistan People’s Party for developing “lota culture” in the country.

He was talking to party workers at a reception in the Wastra village, Kingri taluka, on Friday evening.

FIRE: Seven houses of Bagri community were gutted in Piryaloi, Kingri taluka on Thursday night. The houses belonged to Suresh and others.
