KARACHI, Aug 11: Mohammad Hussain CC (MHCC) caused a huge upset when they dethroned reigning champions Vital Five CC by three wickets in the last quarter-final fixture of the second State Life Trophy Vital Five T20 Ramazan Cricket Festival here on Saturday.

In a dramatic last-ball finish, Naved Yasin guided his team home by making an unbeaten 38 off 32 balls after MHCC were set a 158-run target. Aamir Iqbal (33 off 25 balls) and Sajid Ali (30 off 21, two sixes and two fours) also made invaluable contributions.

Mohammad Waqas was the chief run-getter for the hosts in their total of 157-5 with a 42-ball 54 (five fours and one six) while putting on 84 with Israrullah (36 off 33 balls, five fours) for the second wicket. MHCC will meet Khyber Greens Fata in Monday’s second semi-final while Omar CC play Sindh Police in the first on Sunday.
