PPP-man elected Haripur Bar chief

HARIPUR, Dec 21: In the District Bar polls the PPP-backed candidate won as president, for the second time round here on Saturday.

According to the election result, the lawyers of District Bar Haripur belonging to the PPP and other like-minded political parties, reposed confidence in Javed Khan Tanoli advocate, by electing him as president bar, Haripur, for another term.

Khursheed Azhar advocate, a candidate for the office of general secretary from the same panel, lost to his rival Muhammad Jameel Tanoli advocate with a little margin.

Javed Tanoli bagged 112 votes and his opponent Mehboob Ahmad advocate secured 91.

Muhammad Jameel Tanoli advocate of Mehboob Penal was declared successful as general secretary after he obtained 105 votes; Khursheed Azhar advocate, a two times general secretary district bar, lost to his rival by six votes. He secured 99 votes.

Zahid Qayum, Raja Yasir, Qazi Muhammad Ishaaq & Sheik Afzaal were elected VP, JS and member executive council bar, unopposed respectively.
