KARACHI, Aug 10: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) capped a fine night work’s by romping to a clinical 59-run victory over a lacklustre United Bank Limited (UBL) to reach the final of the 2nd Advance Telecom T20 Corporate Cup at the DHA Sports Club-Moin Khan Academy here on Thursday night.

After making 136-4, having won the toss in the first semi-final, the SBP bowling unit sent UBL reeling to 77 all out in the 18th over.

Slow left-armer Jalat Khan destroyed the top-order batting to claim three for 15 in a Man-of-the-Match performance.

Farrukh Shahzad earlier was chief run-getter for SBP with a 40-ball 41 (four fours and one six) after openers Naved Malik (28 off 27 balls, five boundaries) and Zain Abbas (26 off 23, two fours and one six) provided a bright start.

SBP’s opponents in Saturday’s final were being decided on Friday night with Omar Associates playing Advance Telecom in the other semi-final.

Summarised scores: STATE BANK 136-4 in 20 overs (Farrukh Shahzad 41, Naved Malik 28, Zain Abbas 26; Kashif Bhatti 2-19); UNITED BANK 77 in 17.2 overs (Jalat Khan 3-15).
