LAHORE, Aug 8: An additional district and sessions judge refused on Wednesday to decide bail petitions of the father and brothers of Sapna Khan, the ex-wife of former chief minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa.

Khosa had got a case registered against family members of Sapna on charges of fraud and kidnapping his former wife.

Sapna’s father Missal Khan also got a similar case registered against Khosa on charges of kidnapping and killing Sapna. Both cases were registered by the Racecourse police on the direction of the Lahore High Court.

On Wednesday, judge Muhammad Ayub Marth heard arguments of accused’s counsel and reserved the verdict.

But the judge later abstained from issuing the verdict and referred the matter to the district and sessions judge with a request to fix the same before any other judge.

As per the record of cases between Khosa and Missal Khan, Khosa married actress Zeba Khan alias Sapna and later divorced her.

Their nikah ceremony was held on June 2, 2010, at a house in Johar Town. At the time of nikah, Khosa was of 37 years and his marital status was mentioned as married while Sapna was 23 and her marital status was unmarried.

The family of Sapna alleged she was abducted by Khosa and his friends from outside the GOR-I residence on June 2, 2011, and since then no clue to her whereabouts was available.

They said a news item about the incident had been published in a national daily on July 7, 2011, and no rebuttal had been made from any side. They alleged that Khosa had killed Sapna.
