QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court Bar Association (BHCBA) leaders strongly condemned the armed attack on the son of a senior lawyer in Quetta and demanded strict action against those involved, urging the government to crack down on armed groups and private guards across Balochistan.

Addressing a press conference, the BHCBA President Ataullah Langove, former Supreme Court Bar Association presidents Amanullah Kanrani, Mian Rauf Atta and Rahib Baloch said those responsible for the attack deserved no leniency and should be brought to justice.

They said that armed men allegedly stormed into the house of senior lawyer Waseem Advocate on Thursday and opened fire on his son, Abdullah, seriously injuring him.

According to the lawyers, when Abdullah’s mother came out to save her son, the attackers also fired at her, calling the act a grave violation of tribal and social traditions.

They further said the attackers even shot at the family’s pet dog after it came out of the house following the incident.

The injured Abdullah was immediately shifted to hospital, where doctors provided emergency treatment and

managed to save his life. However, due to his critical condition, he was later airlifted to Aga Khan University Hospital through the People’s Air Ambulance for advanced treatment.

The lawyers appreciated the personal efforts of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court Kamran Mullahkhail, Provincial Health Minis-ter Bakht Muhammad Kakar, and the Chief Secretary for arranging his transfer and announcing government-funded treatment.

The bar leaders said armed groups were openly operating in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan, creating fear among citizens.

They called for immediate action against armed gangs, private guards, and vehicles with tinted windows.
