TOBA TEK SINGH, Aug 4: The district and sessions judge on Saturday handed down an accused life term on two counts in a double murder case, besides 14-year imprisonment in another case for injuring five people.

The Judge, Mushtaq Ahmad Chaudhry, also slapped a Rs350,000 on the accused.

According to the prosecution, convict Boota Masih, a resident of Kamalia’s Christian colony had escaped some three months ago after stealing a goat from Zeeshan colony.

When some locals chased the accused, he killed two of them -- Muhammad Shafi and Nisar Ahmad -- with a sharp-edged weapon, besides injuring five others. — Correspondent
