The refreshing and unique concept of having a fashion presentation featuring celebrities rather than fashion models received a boost at a show where morning show hosts of different channels walked the length of the makeshift ramp and were given a thumbs-up by fashionistas, socialites and guests alike.

Lately, there has been a spate of fashion activity where the staple diet of models has been replaced by real-life celebrities, TV and film artists, fashionistas, etc, a trend that seems to be fast catching on and is being welcomed with open arms for it employs real-life achievers and personalities who are so much more than just a pretty face.

Back to the event held at the opening of the Brands Just Pret second outlet at Dolmen Mall, Tariq Road, and the short presentation featured outfits by various designers which comprised solid colours with minimal embellishments in the form of motifs with a striking and interesting palette that is sure to define the festive season this year. The fabric of choice remained light and breezy georgettes and chiffons within an affordable budget and the cuts mostly traditional with a little bit of experimentation thrown in for good measure. The event was quite well-attended which left the models precious little space to maneuver during the short presentation. —T.R.
