LAHORE, Aug 2: Sattokatla police recovered the bodies of a middle-aged man and his servant from a house in D-Block of the PCSIR Housing Society Phase-II here on Thursday.

Police suspected that victims Iqbal Gujjar (58) and his servant Mubashir Amin Butt (50), both residents of Township, were murdered by unidentified suspect(s).

Sadar SP (Operations) Liaquat Ali told Dawn Iqbal was found dead on a bed with a single bullet wound to his head while Mubashir on the ground with club wounds.

He said Iqbal’s son Shahid, who came to deliver milk to his father at around 7:30am, found the two dead in a room and alerted the police who shifted the bodies to hospital for autopsy.

Shahid said his father used to stay at his outhouse along with Mubashir.

The SP said forensic experts had collected necessary evidence and the police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the killings.

He said it appeared that Iqbal was shot during sleep while Mubashir was clubbed by assailants who left the place without any resistance. — Staff Reporter
