LONDON, Aug 1: Dynamo Kiev and Panathinaikos won first-leg matches in the third round of qualifying for the Champions League on Tuesday.

Dynamo Kiev came from behind to take a narrow 2-1 lead into the second-leg against Feyenoord. The Ukrainian outfit fell behind to Ruben Schaken’s strike four minutes after the interval, a goal that could prove crucial in the outcome of this tie.

However, Lex Immers put into his own net to give Dynamo a way back into the encounter seven minutes later and Ideye Brown scored the winner on the evening in the 69th minute.

Panathinaikos won 2-0 at Scottish club Motherwell with goals from forward Lazaros Christodoulopoulos in the 14th and from midfielder Charis Mavrias in the 76th.

Feyenoord are at home to Dynamo Kiev on Aug 7 and Panathinaikos will host Motherwell on Aug 8 in the second-legs.
