Ahmed crowned champion

PESHAWAR, Dec 19: Ahmed Shah clinched the First Arbab Sikander Hayat Memorial table tennis title outlasting Abrar Hussain after a marathon final played at University Campus here on Thursday.

The final score was 21-20, 20-21,21-19, 21-22, 21-18-21 in favour of Ahmed.

In a match that provided plenty of thrills it was Ahmed who eventually overcame a spirited Abrar winning the fifth and the deciding set to emerge worthy winner.

For the third position match Raza Shikeri defeated Hameed Iqbal in four closely fought sets. The score was 21-18, 20-21, 21-19, 21-20.

A total of 64 school and college players from all over the province competed in the tournament that took a month to complete.
