RAWALPINDI, Dec 19: The additional district and sessions judge, Mohammad Sarwar Sidhu, on Thursday, awarded death sentence to a convict for killing a man inside a police station.
The convict, Manzoor Hussain, was also fined Rs50,000.
According to Kalar Sayedaan police, the victim, Mohammad Sadiq, had come to the police station for registering a complaint against the convict for injuring him in a brawl two years ago.
IMPRISONMENT: The additional district and sessions judge, Mian Mohammad Shafi, awarded one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) to a drug-trafficker and also imposed a Rs5,000 fine on him.
The accused, Khalid Mughal, had been booked by RA Bazaar police for possessing 460 grams heroin.
MURDER CASE: Four investigation officers (IOs) recorded their statements before the Anti-Terrorist Court no 2 during a murder case in which three medical students had allegedly kidnapped and killed one of their class fellows.
The judge, Safdar Hussain Malik, recorded the statements of Sub-inspector Bashir Ahmad Noon, SI Raja Mohammad Asghar, SI Riaz Ahmad and SI Shaukat Hayat.
According to the IOs, the accused — Sajjad Ahmad, Bilal Durani, Hazir Rehman and Qaisar Ahmad — had allegedly kidnapped Junaid Iltaf for ransom. They took him to Nowshehra where they murdered him after failing to get the ransom money.
