ABBOTTABAD, July 29: Disciplinary action taken by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz central leadership against its youth wing president Mohammad Safdar would not only save the party from disintegration in Hazara division, but also in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said party leaders here on Sunday.

The rift in PML-N in Hazara, which was created by reckless statements of Mr Safdar against senior leaders, had perturbed the workers. The party activists are of the view that the differences could have cost the party dearly if Mian Nawaz Sharif had not taken action to suspend the party membership of Mr Safdar.

Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan and Pir Sabir Shah, who both had served as chief ministers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however, were least bothered by the youth wing leader’s statements, party insiders said.

They said that the two leaders had been subjected to criticism by their opponents at the time of renaming of the province and during the movement for creation of Hazara province.
