A court in Rawalpindi gave the three police officials into the custody of Gunjmandi police on one-day physical remand in connection with the escape of the accused in the former attorney general’s murder case. The Gunjmandi police produced ASI Ali Syed, Head Constable Yaqoob and Constable Tahir before duty magistrate Ahmed Hassan Ranjha and requested for their seven-day physical remand to investigate the escape of the accused, Roohullah.  The magistrate, however, allowed remand only for a day and directed them to produce the detained officials before the court on Monday for obtaining further remand. —Malik Asad
