KARACHI: Film fest at PIIA

KARACHI, Dec 19: Some 80 films of different categories from Pakistan, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, Iran, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, are being shown in the second International Film Festival, 2002, being held at the auditorium of Pakistan Institute of International Affairs in Karachi.

The festival started on Dec 15. It is organized by the Kara Film Society, whose members also produce films. A large number of film goers and filmmakers from Pakistan and abroad are attending the festival.

In addition to film screenings, the festival is also hosting seminars on film and cinema, besides exhibiting the vintage Pakistani film posters.

The 8-day festival will conclude on December 22 with a ceremony, where the best short features, feature films, documentaries and short shorts, would be awarded.—PPI
