LAHORE, July 27: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ordered the housing secretary and Wasa managing director solve the issue of potable water in northern Lahore residential areas and sought a report on solar-run tubewells.

The chief minister was addressing residents of Bhogiwal Road, China Scheme and adjoining areas along with officer-bearers and workers of Pakistan Muslim League-N at his tent office on Friday.

On the demand of residents, Shahbaz directed LTC authorities to start operating air-conditioned buses in northern Lahore as well.

Taking notice of complaints of some residents, the chief minister directed constitution of a committee, comprising housing secretary and LDA DG to solve the issues of land allotment and registries in various residential schemes of the area, and asked the committee to solve these issues within next two weeks.

On another demand, the chief minister directed the communication & works department to review feasibility of construction of a bridge at Shalimar Chowk. He ordered that land for construction of a hospital at GT Road should be identified to provide best possible medical care to the residents of the area.
