ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Friday notified up to Rs1.60 per unit increase in rates for electricity consumers of the Karachi Electric Supply Company on the basis of monthly fuel adjustment.
According to three notifications issued on Friday, Nepra allowed an increase in rates by Rs1.04 per unit for January, followed by 4 paisa per unit for February and Rs1.60 per unit increase for March.
Nepra had concluded public hearing in Karachi on June 11 for fuel-based tariff adjustment.The notifications said the tariff increase of Rs1.08 per unit for January and March should be recovered from consumers in August while Rs1.60 per unit increase should be charged in the billing month of September.
