ISLAMABAD, July 25: A woman was murdered by her nephew over a property dispute in the capital’s rural area shortly before Iftar on Wednesday, police said.

The victim was identified as B.B., 45, a resident of New Shakrial. The police said her nephew, N.M., a resident of Sheikhpura, came over to Islamabad to visit her aunt. He claimed that his mother also had a share in the four marla house in New Shakrial.

Regarding the property, he engaged in an argument with the victim because she denied the claim. All of a sudden, he lost his temper and pulled out his pistol and started to fire at her. As a result, the victim received five bullets and fell on the ground, bleeding profusely. The killer managed to escape.

Later the police were informed, who reached the spot and shifted the body to a hospital. In response to the complaint, Shahzad Town police registered a murder case and launched a hunt for the killer.—Staff Reporter
