Body recovered, two held

FATEHJANG, July 24: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the killing of a man whose head was found hanging from an electric pole here about a week back.

The police said the headless body of the victim, Noor Rehman, had also been recovered.

Noor Rehman, a resident of Azakhel in the Nowshera district, worked as a butcher in the Fatehjang town and lived in Chasan Wali Dheri.

In the same neighbourhood lived Saeed and his wife, also natives of Azakhel. Noor Rehman allegedly kidnapped the wife of Saeed on July 17, 2012, and took her to his native town.

The same day, Saeed along with his relative Saddam and his wife Dilshad reached Azakhel and killed him. They later brought the head of the victim to Fatehjang and hanged it on the electric pole.

A large number of people from Azakehl work in Fatehjang as labourers.

After about six days, ASP Fatehjang Haroon Rasheed Khan and SHO Chaudhry Mohammad Akhtar of Akbarpura (Nowshera) police station managed to arrest Saddam and his wife and recovered the headless body.

However, the other accused is still at large. — Correspondent
