HYDERABAD, July 24: There is no respite from power outages in rural and urban areas despite the government promises to reduce loadshedding particularly during Iftar and Sehri hours.

The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) has failed to maintain power supply even during Taraweeh prayers.

There are complaints that power supply is suspended during Taraveeh prayers, forcing mosque managements to commission generators.

“Hesco officials do not have any schedule and they suspend supply whenever they like. Taraweeh prayers end at about 10:45pm, but power supply is suspended much before that,” said Pappu Qureshi who runs administration of Jamia Masjid in Saddar.

“I spoke to Hesco subdivision office concerned and was assured that things would improve but there is no change in the situation,” he said.

Traders, tailors and shopkeepers say that it seems that Hesco has no proper plan for loadshedding.

According to traders, there is no relief although shops are closed after Asr prayers. Tailors are annoyed because unscheduled power outages disturb their work and they are to deliver clothes on schedule.
