KARACHI: Childcare facilities at CHK

KARACHI, Dec 18: Khadija Soomro, wife of Governor Sindh Muhammedmian Soomro, on Tuesday inaugurated additional beds at the children’s ward, the alternative power supply for the ward and the children’s park and play area at the Civil Hospital Karachi.

An official statement said this had been made possible by the continued efforts and support of the Save Our Children-CHK Trust. The project has been completed with private donations/ contributions amounting to Rs2.3 million.

The chief guest also visited the eight-bed paediatric intensive care unit and the renovated seminar room and library.

Begum Khadija Soomro congratulated Professor Iqbal Memon of the Save Our Children-CHK Trust and the Friends of Children on the accomplishment.

Professor Noshad A. Shaikh gave a briefing over the improvements in the hospital through private-public partnership and the services the hospital provides.

Prof Iqbal Memon stated that the park would provide for the mental wellbeing of children and families through open-air recreation facilities in the children’s ward, and would positively enhance the pace of recovery.—APP
