LAHORE, July 18: The Punjab chapter of Young Doctors Association and medical students organised a rally on Wednesday at the Jinnah Hospital to protest the transfer of former Allama Iqbal Medical College Principal Prof Dr Javed Akram.

Dozens of doctors and students took out a rally at the teaching hospital to show their solidarity with the former AIMC principal.

Wearing black armbands, the doctors also took a round of various departments of the hospital and the college.

They were of the view that the Punjab government had transferred Prof Javed Akram for supporting the young doctors’ strike.

The doctors had demanded of the government to withdraw the decision and reappoint Prof Javed Akram to his previous post.
