LAHORE, July 17: A man in his 40s was killed and his friend sustained injuries after four motorcyclists opened fire on their car near Mayo Hospital here on Tuesday.

Old Anarkali police said that Malik Ahsaan of Ravi Road was gunned down and Imdad Ali of Shahdara was injured.

Police said Imdad, who was pursuing murder cases of his two brothers, was apparently the target of assailants.

Ahsaan, who was a transporter-cum-property dealer, was the friend of Imdad and they were going to inquire after a patient at the hospital at the time of the incident.

COMMITS SUICIDE: A jobless youth committed suicide by jumping from the rooftop of his house near Lohaywali Pulli locality of Badami Bagh on Tuesday.

Badami Bagh police said that 25-year-old Muhammad Zafar was upset for being jobless. — Staff Reporter
