PESHAWAR, July 16: The Cultural Journalists Forum has demanded of the government to take action against immoral stage shows, obscene CDs and vulgar tele-films as the same were tarnishing image of Pakhtuns.

In a press release issued here on Monday, the forum also appealed to Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Dost Mohammad Khan to take notice of the illegal and obscene activities being carried out in the garb of culture.

Action should be taken against the perpetrators, who were minting money at the cost of breeding violence among youngsters, it said.

The release said that immoral scenes were shown in CDs and tele-films that cast negative impact on the minds of young generation.

It said that several incidents were reported wherein young boys internalised violent ideas from CDs.

The forum also criticised government for maintaining silence on the issue.

It suggested that a committee comprising all stakeholders should be formed to resolve the issue of purchasing the ancestral house of Bollywood legend Dillip Kumar.

It also demanded of the authorities concerned to stop demolishing cinema houses in the city.
