Six butchered in Gujrat

GUJRAT, Dec 16: A mother and her five minors were found slaughtered here on Monday in their house in Dhok Awan, some 55km away from Jhelum city, in the limits of the Chotala police station.

Police sources said they had been butchered with a sharp-edged weapon by some unknown assailants who had probably committed this brutal crime in the early morning.

The victims were identified as Safia Bibi, her four sons Nasir, 11; Babar, 9; Amir, 4; Umar, 2; and an infant daughter, Rizwana Kausar. Police have sent the bodies to mortuary for an autopsy. No case was registered till filing of this report at about 9pm.
