RAWALPINDI, July 13: Security forces arrested seven suspected terrorists in connection with last Monday’s attack on an army camp near Wazirabad that killed seven army personnel and a policeman, it has been learnt.

The source said two of the suspected terrorists were arrested from Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), one from Adiala Road Rawalpindi while another was booked from a posh residential housing society located in the Airport police area.

The source further said another suspect, who is alleged to have facilitated the attack was captured by security officials from Gujranwala and added that some of them were those who had already been investigated by the security agencies in terror-related cases in the past and were released later on.

According to police sources, the assailants riding on a car and motorcycles opened fire on the army camp set up at the riverside to look for the body of a pilot of army helicopter which had crashed in the area.

They martyred seven army personnel and also shot and killed a policeman who tried to intercept them as they were escaping.
