PESHAWAR, July 13: Militants on Friday blew up part of a hotel near Kohat bus terminal in the provincial capital.

However, no damage to human life was reported in the attack. An official of Bana Mani police station said an explosive device planted at Grace Hotel caused the explosion at around 12.15pm.

Owner of the hotel Lal Marjan told police that he had no enmity and didn’t know who could be involved in the act of terrorism. Police said the building’s main portion remained safe due to low intensity of the blast.

The bomb disposal unit said the explosive device weighed around two kilogrammes. Police registered a case against unidentified miscreants and began investigation.

Also in the day, the Hayatabad police recovered a kidnapped businessman from Jamrud Ghundi area of Khyber Agency.

Police said Saifullah was kidnapped along with his driver Inayat on June 29 from the Hayatabad Industrial Estate for ransom before being shifted to Jamrud Ghundi area.

They said police raided a house in Jamrud Ghundi area with the help of local political administration and recovered Saifullah. Police claimed to have arrested three people in Peshawar and Jamrud over the kidnapping but refused to reveal their identity for security reasons.
